“Delivered:” is a series in which we look at crowdfunded ideas that have successfully shipped to their supporters. We dive into the final product, after its long journey from concept to fulfillment.

Inspired by a small town's interest in space travel, the Musvalk cutting tool was designed using the same materials used on spacecrafts and given a unique shape reminiscent of fighter jets. This sleek little knife is the last cutting tool you'll ever need, and the best part is that it never needs to be sharpened.

The Musvalk combines titanium, carbon fiber, and zirconia ceramic for a futuristic tool. The zirconia blade is near-diamond strength and, unlike a normal steel blade, it will hardly wear. Whether it's the first use or the thousandth, my blade will work like new. With all of these strong materials, I was afraid the tool would be too heavy, but it's actually the opposite. As indestructible as it is, it is still lighter than the average pocketknife.

I also liked that the unique shape of the blade made the sheath fit tight and I can carry the knife with my keys without ever having to worry about the blade being exposed. Once snapped into place, it will not come out unless I want it to, which also makes it much safer around children.
