You've offered backers the option to ship an individual product as soon as it's available, or wait and ship the entire order together. Regardless of what the backer has chosen, you'll need a way to mark the orders and individual products as shipped. With the release of our latest feature creators will be able to easily update the order status and share tracking details if available.

Marking orders and individual products as shipped is now accessible to creators, without having to go through our Customer Success team. You have the option to import the tracking information and share it with the backers by electing to send the shipment confirmation email.  Whether you are marking the orders or products as shipped for your own record, or if you are looking to share a shipment notification with backers this feature will provide creators with more tools to manage your pledges.

To mark orders and products as shipped, you'll need to start with making sure you have the Shipment Tracking app downloaded. You can confirm and download the app if needed by clicking on the Apps option on the left menu.

Next, you'll need to create the import file that will be used to identify the orders, products (order selections) and shipment tracking data (if available). The file should be in CSV or Excel format. To make for a smooth import process, pay special attention to the column header names. When marking orders as shipped, the order id is the only required information. When marking individual items as shipped, the order id, product sku, and quantity are required columns of data.

Once the file is created, you'll need to upload the file. During the importing process, you'll be given the opportunity to override existing shipping details (we only store one tracking number per order) or to send the shipment confirmation email. When electing to send the shipment confirmation email, you'll be given the opportunity to preview the tracking email. Once previewed, you can import the file to mark the orders or products as shipped. Keep in mind, when marking orders or products as shipped will lock the order or product preventing any changes.
